Tongue-in-cheek Predictions

The City of Rosenberg’s next election is almost upon us. The mayor and at large positions win a two-year term. The single districts are up for a one-year term.
Mayor Vincent Morales, Jr. will not run for reelection. He needs the money and time to pursuit other political aspirations. Due to lack of leadership and self-centeredness he lost the Council and even disappointed his stronger supporters.
Councilor Peña should run again for his position. In less than 2 years he has numerous accomplishments for his district. The voters should reward his hard work with reelection.
Councilor Euton has represented her district and the entire city well. The district needs her experience. Yet, the entire city will benefit from her fiscal responsibility and number crunching expertise. She needs to be reelected.
Councilor Grigar after 12 years needs to call it quit. In his last unopposed election nearly 25% of voters shun from voting for him. Even so, arrogance could sway him to run for another position.
Councilor Barta has pleasantly surprised by standing true to her conservative values even on contentious issues. The citizens are well represented by her in council. She should be elected to an at large position.
Councilor Benton will run for his position. Polarizing but no one can deny his dedication. Super majority of constituents are sincerely grateful for his persistence to serve the community. No one should be foolish to contest his imminent landslide win.
Councilor McConathy has the character, experience and leadership to move the city forward. Some may disagree with her on certain issues but no one can question her integrity. She should be the next Mayor of Rosenberg.
Maybe this is not so tongue-in-cheek predictions after all. Candidate endorsement is to come prior to election.
