Property Taxes

The present Rosenberg City Council has given property owners 2 tax reduction in the last 2 years.  Much work needs to be done  moving forward. Next, City Council should also consider paying down debt with any surplus income.

4

City Infrastructure

The City of Rosenberg water lines, sewer lines, lift stations, sewer plants and streets are in desperate need of upgrade. The city has begun some projects but much  more needs to be done.

2

One-Way Pairing of Ave. H and Ave. I

These 2 roads not only split the city geographically but it has split the citizens. No other issue has polarized the voters of Rosenberg more since the Zoning debate. On one side is TxDot, which has determined the project is a priority. On the other side are the great majority of citizen which have a disdain for it. City Council is in a pickle but fortunately it has supported the citizens view.

Train Horns and Quiet Zone

Citizens of all ages are having the heebie-jeebies about the constant and increasing train horns in Rosenberg. The solution is quiet zone. This is a system which provides safety at rail road intersections without the trains blasting the horns. The city should make it a priority to provide quiet and peaceful enjoyment to all citizens.

Term Limit Proposition

Proposition 1 is on the ballot for voters to approve. The measure will amend the City Charter to include 3 two-year terms. Term limit is an issue that most politicians run away from but City Council deserves credit for allowing the citizens to vote on this important issue. We fully support the proposition and encourage all voters to approve.

Annexation

The previous City Manager and Council embarked in an annexation plan with the sole purpose of short term revenues. No costs of capital improvements were considered in order to provide the same services as the rest of the City including water and wastewater. Now, the city faces the ramification of this poorly planned scheme. The Council has consensus that at this time disannexation is the best alternative for the city and residents of Spacek Tracts. We agree with their decision.
